Description

Cultivating the Bench Strength of your Development Team with Kathy Drucquer Duff of KDD Philanthropy

In order to survive and thrive in today’s development climate, organizations must ensure development professionals receive training and guidance on nuancing donor strategies and outreach.

Too often, development officers get stuck in the transitional pieces of the donor cycle—unable to smoothly move prospects through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship pieces—and subsequently upgrade them to the next giving level. For example, when is the right time to move from stewardship to cultivation of the next gift? What’s the best approach? Our March session will provide practical ideas and advice on the “art” associated with the science of moves management.

Drawing on her own fundraising success, our session leader will address the following:

  • The right questions to ask and when to ask them

  • How to incorporate transitional language in to your meetings to ensure “movement”

  • Portfolio management strategies, tools to assist in that management, and strategies for growing, enhancing and upgrading our portfolios.

  • Using focus and discipline in our work
